Why Khudabadi Amil Panchayat?

After joining the Panchayat as member many Amils particularly migrants from Karachi started asking as to why the Panchayat had been named as Khudabadi and not Hyderabadi. Since the initiative to establish a Panchayat in Bombay had been taken by the president and others from Karachi Panchayat whose name was Hyderabadi. Some members even thought that Khudabadi Amil are different from Hyderabadi family. This is not so. All Amils whether from Karachi or from Hyderabad are in one brotherhood.

What actually happened at the time of formation of the Panchayat in Bombay was that the last manager of the Khudabadi Amil Co-operative Bank in Hyderabad Narain Advani had brought with himself on migration certain Government Security Bonds in the name of Khudabadi Amil Panchayat, inquiries made by him at the Reserve Bank Of India revealed that their Security Bonds could be encashed only by an entity with the same name and no one else. This caused a debate amongst the promoters of the Panchayat in Bombay whether for the sake of acquiring much needed funds covered by the Securities, the new Panchayat be named Khudabadi Amil Panchayat instead of Hyderabadi Amil Panchayat as generally expected. In any case all Amils, even the Hyderabadi Amils and their ancestors had originally belonged to Khudabad. It was decided to name the new Panchayat as "Khudabadi" What is in a name? Whether Hyderabad or Khudabad a panchayat in right hands would endeavor to achieve its objects and make the community shine even better than it did in Sind. So the panchayat was named as "Khudabadi Amil Panchayat of Bombay".
